What Whitecode Offer

Whitecode offer a program to develop students who have a passion for engineering in the built environment. We are an official adopter of Wilmington grammar school for boys & girls and the design engineer construct program

Whitecode provide an opportunity to those students to join our exiting practice and train to be a qualified construction professional

With our close ties to London Southbank university we also sponsor students to gain a formal engineering degree while gaining valuable experience working as a part of the design teams at Whitecode

Congratulations to our trainee engineers for receiving good exam results, progressing into university & having a bright future at Whitecode Design Associates Ltd

Day 1 done of the Whitecode Team volunteering at Wilmington Grammar School for Boys, helping with building and decorating work. Was an excellent day for it!

A grand total of £27,213.85 has been raised in aid of the much-loved Charlton Upbeats, the four-times Down’s Syndrome national champions.

The money was raised from sponsorship of The Upbeats Walk, which took place on the morning the annual Charlton Upbeats Day on April 16th.

More than 200 people walked nine miles from the club’s training ground in New Eltham to The Valley, with the walk being led by Charlton legends Derek Hales, Mike Flanagan, Simon Webster, Bob Bolder, Carl Leaburn and Paul Mortimer.

Having been greeted in SE7, the Upbeats then took on Albion in the Community on The Valley pitch, earning a comprehensive victory.

Sponsorship from Charlton Life, the online fan forum, raised over £8,800 this year, which was boosted by auctions of shirts and other club memorabilia.

ITRM, sponsors of both the club and Trust, also assisted on the day by providing volunteers, who assisted along the walk by handing out refreshments and guiding the way.

Carl Krauhaus, Head of Early Help and Prevention at Charlton Athletic Community Trust, said:

“I can’t thank the whole Charlton family enough for coming together to support the Upbeats once again on such a brilliant day.

“So many different people helped to make the event so special. The club staff who sorted logistics, fans groups like Charlton Life, club sponsors like ITRM and Whitecode Design Associates and the CACT staff who volunteered and spent their time co-ordinating it all.

“A special mention should go to the legends who again turned out in force to support the project engaging brilliantly with the walkers as they made their way round the course.

“The project costs around £25,000 to run each year, so its immediate future is again secure due to the commitment and generosity of many. I’m really pleased that we will be able to continue delivering The Upbeats project in South East London and Kent.

“The lads will now start looking forward to playing in the George Best Cup in Northern Ireland next month and their defence of the national Down’s syndrome championship in Birmingham.”

Over 170 young people are registered with The Upbeats with 40 regular attendees every week. They also play in the Kent Adult Disability League and were successful in being league winners in their first season. The Upbeats are also four-times, National Down’s syndrome champions and in July will be going for their fifth consecutive title.

The programme specialises in providing a progressive and safe environment for players of all ages to reach their full potential. It provides a clear pathway, from young players who are learning the basic skills in the game up to senior competitive football.

On Friday the 3rd of March Whitecode attended the annual Wilmington Grammar School careers fair.  Whitecode has maintained close ties with both grammar schools at Wilmington and were proud to support the event once more where over 700 students from the two schools attended. Over the past 23 years Whitecode has employed over 20 students on its development programmes with the majority of them achieving a First Class Honours degrees in Building Services Engineering and we were thrilled at the level of interest displayed by this year’s potential intake.

Comprising of four distinct companies, Whitecode has developed a number of loyal engineers over the years.

Founded in 1994 as Whitecode Design Associates Ltd, Whitecode is proud to have developed many of its engineers in-house through apprenticeships and sponsored university places, and has been rewarded by the majority of them remaining loyal over long careers.

The practice has subsequently grown into a multi-disciplinary international consultancy comprising four distinct companies.

• Whitecode Design Associates Ltd — a leading MEP consultancy specialising in large-scale, mixed-use developments.

• Walker Mower (founded in 1975) — acquired by the group in 2011 as a well-established MEP consultancy specialising in retail, offices and schools, therefore increasing the group’s scope of services.

• Whitecode Developments — established in 2011 in response to the needs of our clients for a quality-assurance service during construction and to provide building analytics services for the identification and management of post-construction defects.

• Whitecode South Africa — founded in 2014 to provide a high-quality digital drafting facility for the group as well as project management, interior design and architectural services

Whitecode were very pleased to have been presented with a certificate from the Engineering Development Trust charity in recognition of our achievement with working with our partner school, Wilmington Grammar School for Boys, on the Engineering Education Scheme.  In addition, we also received accreditation at Gold Level from Industrial Cadets; a new scheme launched by HRH Prince Charles and was designed to help inspire and produce the next generation of engineers and scientists.
